Dr. Roberto Masferrer, LAc, DACHM

Roberto’s interest in Oriental Medicine began through his study of Okinawan Martial Arts which he has been practicing since 1990. His commitment to the field of acupuncture and holistic wellness was solidified during his time in the Peace Corps in Peru, where he saw how simple, energetic healing was relied upon in areas without modern healthcare.

Roberto and wife, Katie, met while attending Whitman College and fell in love with Walla Walla. After graduating from Whitman they joined the Peace Corps and left Walla Walla for the mountains of Peru, but intended on returning to raise a family. They moved back to Walla Walla in 2014 with two wonderful children, and now also have a small farmstead with some goats, chickens, rabbits, cats and a dog.

Roberto Masferrer graduated from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in 2010. After 10 years of practice he began his doctoral studies in East Asian Medicine, and graduate with his PhD in 2023. He is also a certified Qi Gong instructor through the Ling Gui International Qi Gong School.

Roberto Masferrer's mission at Kumo Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine is to use compassion and the wisdom of East Asian Medicine to guide those who feel lost or stuck in their lives, because of pain or illness, back to optimal health. He will take the time to hear your story and together decide upon a path to healing. It is our hope that through acupuncture, massage, herbal medicine and other healing techniques we can help you to overcome obstacles in your life. Roberto’s desire is to provide a path to wellness which will inspire you to move beyond health and transform your life.
